Nemera awarded silver medal in the EcoVadis sustainability assessment, figuring in the top 22% of all companies evaluated.
At Nemera we are committed to conducting business in an ethical and socially responsible way. Our people are passionate about making products that improve patient’s lives whilst being conscious about the impact we make on the world around us. We are pleased to share that we successfully completed the EcoVadis sustainability assessment with a silver medal. Elizabeth de Longeaux, Head of Nemera’s Human Resources, explains what this rating means for us and how it aligns with our continued efforts towards sustainability.
First of all, a silver medal, that sounds good! Could you explain what the EcoVadis assessment is and what the silver medal represents?
EcoVadis is a global platform that provides a holistic Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) ratings service of companies. The rating covers a broad range of non-financial management systems including Environmental, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement and each company is rated on the material issues as they pertain to their company’s size, location and industry. These evidence-based assessments are refined into easy to read scorecards, providing zero to one hundred scores, and medals (bronze, silver, gold, platinum), when applicable.
I’m proud to share that Nemera Group was assessed by EcoVadis for the first time and we secured a silver medal figuring in the top 22% of all companies evaluated.
Why is this score so important for Nemera?
As a world leader in drug delivery devices, we know that business can be a force for good and we have our role to play! Transparency in the way we operate is important for our customers, employees, suppliers as well as other stakeholders. This assessment also provides guidance on strengths and improvement areas to focus our sustainability efforts and develop corrective action plans to improve our CSR performance. I’m confident that with our CSR roadmap we’ll truly make a difference.
So what does this roadmap look like?
A focus on people, partnerships and planet underpin our CSR vision. It weaves together our entire ecosystem. Rome wasn’t built in a day and we know we still have some things to improve on. As an example, although we are hitting our targets for a more equal representation of women in our leadership positions, we still have a way to go! We want to continue to foster our culture where all individuals and teams do their best work and always in a safe environment. Just like us, we want to ensure our suppliers share the same approach towards sustainability. Our ultimate goal is to strengthen the trust our partners have in our business practices. And last but not the least, we take our duty to protect our environment seriously. At Nemera, we want to ensure our operations are environmentally conscious and pay attention to the world we leave behind.
