World Asthma Day 2019!
Today, May 7, is the World Asthma Day.
On World Asthma Day (May 7, 2019) and throughout May, organizations such as Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) encourage people with asthma to learn more about how to control asthma and prevent asthma episodes.
This year’s World Asthma Day theme is “STOP for Asthma”.
What is asthma ?
Asthma is a disease that affects your lungs. This is one of the most common long-term diseases of children, but adults can have it too. There is multiple causes named “asthma triggers” of Asthma which can lead to asthma attack.
An asthma attack may include coughing, chest tightness, wheezing, and trouble breathing. The attack happens in your body’s airways, which are the paths that carry air to your lungs.
But it is possible to control it by knowing the warning signs of an asthma attack.
How is asthma treated ?
- Take the medicine exactly as the doctor tells you.
- Stay away from things which can lead to an asthma attack.
- There is two types of medicines : quick relief and long term control
- Quick relief will prevent from an asthma attack
- Long term control will help to have fewer and milder attacks
